This study aims to analyze the methods and translations used in translating news from Al-Jazeera entitled “كولومبيا تعين أول سفير لها في فلسطين” into Indonesian with the title “Colombia elects rookie ambassador to Palestine”. The focus of the study is how semantic and communicative methods are applied by translators to convey the original meaning in different cultural and political contexts. Through a qualitative literature study approach, the author examines the elements of language, ideological media, and the structure of the translated information. The results of the analysis show that semantic methods are widely used to maintain the accuracy and ideological content of the source text, while communicative methods are applied to adjust the message to the target readers. Translation techniques such as modulation, amplification, and paraphrasing are also identified as important strategies in bridging cultural and political differences between languages. This study confirms that translating international news requires high linguistic and ideological sensitivity. Translators must understand the global context so that the message remains factual, neutral, and culturally acceptable to the target audience.
