PELAKSANAAN EKSTRAKURIKULER SENI TARI (TARI TEPAK SIRIH) DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER SISWA SMA NEGERI 1 KABUN KABUPATEN ROKAN HULU PROVINSI RIAU

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of extracurricular dance, especially Tepak Sirih Dance, in shaping student character at SMA Negeri 1 Kabun, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. This research used descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of one extracurricular coach and seven students participating in extracurricular activities. The results showed that the implementation of extracurricular dance in this school includes planning the objectives of tepak sirih dance extracurricular, tepak sirih dance material, tepak sirih dance methods, tepak sirih dance facilities and infrastructure, as well as evaluation and assessment in the implementation of structured tepak sirih dance extracurricular activities. Through this activity, students not only gain knowledge and dance skills, but also experience a process of character building such as responsibility, discipline, self-confidence, cooperation, and respect for others. Thus, extracurricular dance plays an important role in supporting character education in the school environment.
