LAPORAN ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN ANAK DENGAN HIPERTERMIA PADA KEJANG DEMAM KOMPLEK DI RUANG IBNU SINA PKU MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Febrile seizures are seizures that occur due to an increase in body temperature above 38°C caused by extracranial processes. Febrile seizures are an event in infants or children usually occurring between the ages of 6 months and 5 years accompanied by fever, without evidence of intracranial infection or a definite cause. Hyperthermia is an increase in body temperature above the normal range. Causes of hyperthermia can be dehydration, exposure to hot environments, disease processes (e.g., infection), clothing that does not match the environmental temperature, increased metabolic rate, trauma response, excessive activity, and the use of an incubator. The purpose of this study was to analyze nursing care for children with hyperthermia in complex febrile seizures in the Ibnu Sina Ward, PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Yogyakarta. The research method used was a qualitative method with a case study type of research on two different clients. Data collection techniques were through observation, interviews, and medical records. The nursing care approach included assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the type of hyperthermia management actions in both pediatric patients with febrile seizures were in accordance with the planned outcome criteria. The actions given to both patients were hyperthermia management actions. This includes temperature measurement, warm compresses, and medication administration, which can help lower body temperature in children experiencing hyperthermia.
