Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the terms containing majaz mursal in the book Bulughul Maram by Imam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, specifically in the Book of Purification (Kitab at-Thaharah), and to classify the types of 'alaqah (relationships) that underlie them. This study uses a qualitative approach through a library study with a content analysis technique. Primary data, consisting of hadiths from the Book of Purification, were examined by tracing terms with indications of majaz, and then analyzed based on their context (qarinah) and the relationship of their meaning to gain a more comprehensive understanding. The research found nine terms classified as majaz mursal: أعرابي (a'rabi), الناس (an-nas), إصبعيه (isba'ayhi), العين (al-'ain), الغلام (al-ghulam), أمتي (ummati), عرق ('araq), الماء (al-ma'u), and ميتته (maytatahu). These nine terms show a variety of 'alaqah, including: 'umum (two terms), kulliyyah (one term), juz'iyyah (one term), itlaq (two terms), sababiyyah (one term), 'aliyyah (one term), and zarfiyyah (one term). This variation confirms that majaz mursal in the hadiths of the purification chapter not only demonstrates the richness of balaghah (eloquence) but also serves to convey syar'i (legal) meanings concisely, precisely, and contextually.
