Abstract

The use of conventional learning methods was often unable to motivate students optimally, especially in writing procedural texts in English subjects. This study aimed to answer this problem by developing learning media based on monopoly games. This study used the ADDIE development model, which involved five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The analysis stage identified the lack of innovative media in learning procedural texts. The design stage produced a monopoly game concept that integrated educational elements. At the development stage, the media was validated by experts to ensure its suitability with the curriculum. The implementation was carried out in small and large groups to test its effectiveness. The results of the study indicated that this media helped students understand procedural texts better, increased learning variation, and motivated students. This learning media was recommended as a tool to create a more interactive and interesting learning experience.
