Abstract

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted many churches to shift to online worship in response to restrictions on physical gatherings. This shift raises theological questions about the nature of worship and its relevance to God's mission. This article aims to explore the theology of worship in the context of online worship and its implications for the implementation of God's mission. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this article examines the theological concepts of worship, God's mission, and the potentials and challenges of online worship. The results of the study show that although online worship has limitations in terms of physical interaction and sacraments, it can still be a valid means of glorifying God, building fellowship, and reaching new souls. However, the church needs to develop a contextual and holistic theology of worship that not only focuses on liturgical aspects but also pays attention to missional and relational dimensions. Online worship must be integrated with creative and incarnational mission strategies and accompanied by intense discipleship. Thus, online worship can be a relevant means for the church to continue carrying out God's mission amidst the challenges of the times.
