PENGGUNAAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) DENGAN MEDIA POWERPOINT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR KIMIA PADA MATERI LARUTAN PENYANGGA

This study aims to determine the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Powerpoint media to increase student learning activities and outcomes and to determine a positive and significant correlation between learning activities and learning outcomes. The research population was all students of class XI IPA SMAN 3 Tebing Tinggi totaling 7 classes. Samples were taken by purposive sampling of 2 classes. The experimental class was given treatment with the PBL learning model with Powerpoint media while the control class used the direct instruction model assisted by Powerpoint. The instrument is a test instrument in the form of a multiple choice test totaling 20 questions and a non-test instrument in the form of student attitude observation sheets. Data were analyzed with the right side's t test with a significant level of 0.05 and a correlation test. Activity data and student learning outcomes were analyzed by t-test after first being tested for normality and homogeneity of the data as a requirement for the t-test. the relationship between learning activities and learning outcomes was analyzed by correlation test. The results of the learning activity t-test obtained tcount > ttable (13.28 > 1.68) which shows that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, namely the application of the PBL model with Powerpoint media to increase student learning activities. The results of the t-test for learning outcomes were obtained by ttest > ttable (23.02 > 1.68) which showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, namely the application of the PBL model with Powerpoint media to improve student learning outcomes. Correlation test results obtained rcount > rtable (0.5309 > 0.329) which shows student learning activities have a positive and significant correlation with student learning outcomes in the use of PBL assisted by Powerpoint media.
