Penguatan Literasi Ekologi sebagai Upaya Pengembangan Ekowisata di Kampung Cikaramat
Abstract
Ecological literacy is an individual's ability to understand basic concepts about the environment and ecosystems and internalize ecological values in everyday attitudes and behavior. This literacy plays a strategic role in supporting ecotourism development, as ecological awareness is key to maintaining a balance between the utilization of natural resources and their preservation. However, a lack of ecological awareness, limited community ecological literacy, and under-exploited ecotourism potential remain challenges that need to be addressed. Therefore, to address these issues, an ecological literacy education program and the concept of sustainable ecotourism were established. The methods used included outreach and coordination, ecological literacy outreach, ecotourism development workshops, mentoring, and field practice. The primary target group was the residents of Cikaramat Village, Sukamanis Village, which has the potential to become a tourist village with its rich cultural heritage, bamboo weaving crafts, greenhouses, villas, cafes, and proximity to the natural tourist attraction Situgunung. The goal was to increase ecological awareness while supporting the development of sustainable, competitive ecotourism that provides economic, social, and ecological benefits. The results of this activity show an increase in ecological awareness among the community oriented towards environmental conservation, growing support for economic aspects, as well as supporting sustainable ecotourism through the development of tourist villages.
