Abstract

This research addresses the role of phonology in building language structure and its implications for language learning and acquisition. Phonology, as a branch of linguistics that studies sound patterns, plays a key role in relation to syntax, morphology and semantics. This study shows how phonological elements, such as stress and intonation, affect meaning formation in communication. A qualitative descriptive research method was used to explore the relationship between phonological elements and linguistic structures, based on literature analysis from various scholarly sources. The findings show that phonology not only supports linguistic theories but also has practical applications in language teaching, speech therapy, and technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP). The integration of phonetic knowledge into technology has improved the accuracy of language teaching tools and speech recognition systems. This article concludes that phonology is an integral element in understanding the complexity of linguistics and the development of language-based technologies.
